SEO by the numbers – what you need to know.

The Internet, as we know it today, looks much different than it did even just three or
five years ago. Did you know that today, 80% of Internet users own a smart phone, and never scroll past
page one? Think about the way that you look for information on a small screen – if it’s not on page one, you’re likely not to look past it. And neither are your potential customers!

Let’s take a look at some interesting statistics.

In 1999, it took Google about a month to look at about 50 million pages on the Internet. Today, that takes less than a minute. However, that’s just websites – think about all of the content that is on the Internet today. It’s web pages, video, games, software-as-a-service, even medical information. In that ocean of information, it’s easy to get lost. It’s quite possible that your customers don’t go to Google, Yahoo or Bing to find you first. They might start on Youtube, or look around Facebook to get information. Sometimes people will find out about a product or service from Instagram. Increasingly, Pinterest is becoming a search engine in it’s own right. How do you navigate all of this so that your customers can find you?

We take the mystery out of getting on Google’s radar, being found easily on YouTube, or getting Twitter followers that actually convert to sales and an increase to your bottom line. After all, what’s the point of spending time and money on social media if you can’t get results?

That’s why the mascot of The Kansas City SEO Group is the trusty St. Bernard. We make sure that your customers will be able to find you!
